Oct. 23, 2012 Donald Lee Taylor of Ionia and Florida passed away suddenly of cancer Oct. 20, 2012 in Ionia. He was born Feb. 26, 1934 in Jackson, the son of Donald and Francis (Boldrey) Taylor. Donald married Mae July 5, 1963. She preceded him in death in 1995. He went on to marry Sharlene June 10, 2000. Donald was a Korean War Veteran and a member of VFW Lake Odessa Post 4461. He was an avid motorcycle rider. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Sharlene Taylor; daughters, Carol (Fred) Kuhtz of Ionia and Wendy (Marty) Dowsett of Palo; daughter-in-law Deb Burns of Palo; stepchildren, Lee Garlick and friend Ginny of Rockford, Bruce (Christina) Garlick of Ionia and Teresa (Don) VanderJagt of Sparta; special grandchildren, Trenton Kuhtz and friend Jennifer, Matthew Kuhtz, Brennan (Priscilla) Dowsett, Aubree Dowsett and friend Cory, Kari (Wes) Sakshaug, Justin (Mehgan) Burns, Dustin (Jennifer) Burns, Nick Vandeyken, Dannielle Garlick and fiancé Ryan, Jake Garlick, Kaya Garlick Gabrielle Garlick, Ethan Garlick and Trevor Stedman; brothers, Dale (Julie) Taylor of Texas and Darrel (Cheryl) Taylor of Morley; sisters, Helen (Jim) L'Huillier of Jackson and Irene (Paul) San Nicholas of Illinois. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and two step-sons, Chuck Burns and Jim Burns. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at Lake Funeral Home of Ionia with Pastor Cliff Allen officiating. Interment Palo Cemetery.
