Excerpts from Ionia Obituary

JANICE LEE TAYLOR

Died February 18, 2026-age 76 at home in Six Lakes surrounded by her Family.
Born at St.Lawrence Hospital, in Lansing, Michigan. daughter of Russell & Della 
Messer.
Jan grew up attending Grand Ledge Schools. After moving to Lake Odessa she met 
the love of her life, Roger Taylor & were married in 1966.
Jan worked at Oldsmobile in Lansing. In 1978 they moved to Lakeview, to purchase 
Lakeview Lanes.
Jan had many entrepreneurial adventures including the bowling lanes, a trophy 
shop, video shop, flower shop, pizza parlor & later selling on E-Bay.
She loved painting ceramics & teaching others through her painting classes.
Survived by her husband, Roger Taylor; her mother, Della Messer, sons, 
Troy(Kimberly) Taylor & Tim (Laura) Taylor, grandsons, Trenton (Casey), Tristan 
(Megan) & Taydden (Marissa); great-grandchildren, GraceLynn, Adessa & Miles, her 
brother,Russ (Sue) Messer; nieces Kelli & Amber; nephew, Tim Messer, & sister-
in-law Rosalie Brown.
Preceded in death by her father, Russell Messer; brother Randy Messer; parents-
in-law, Robert & Margaret Culver; her siblings-in-law Robert, Richard,Ronald, 
Ruth & Rhoda.
Memorial service on Saturday, February 28 at noon at Brecht's Signature Events, 
2195 W. Fleck Road, Six Lakes, Michigan with a luncheon to follow.
Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens, S.Ionia,Mich.
