The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, September 6, 1927
Mrs. Mary E. Taylor, 66 years of age, died Sunday morning at 10 o’clock from 
cancer at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ethel Ackerson in Clarksville, where 
she had been during the past two weeks.  Mrs. Taylor was the wife of Wayland 
Taylor and was a lifelong resident of South Boston township, her home being 
located about two miles south of Saranac.  

She is survived besides her husband and daughter at whose home she died, by 
four other daughters, Mrs. Bessie Rentz of Pennsylvania; Mrs. Florence Shreve 
of Grand Rapids; Mrs. May Tyler of Freeport and Miss Anna, at home, and one 
son, Cecil, who resides at Saranac.  

Although not a member of any church, Mrs. Taylor had taken an interest in 
affairs of the Methodist Episcopal church of Saranac, and was an active worker 
in its aid society.

The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Methodist 
Episcopal church.  Rev. J. C. Bateman officiating.  Burial will take place in 
Saranac cemetery.
