The Lowell Ledger, Thursday, May 9, 1918


George P. Taylor was born in Cayuga county, New York, April 11, 1841.  He came 
to Michigan with his parents when 15 years of age and settled in Lowell 
township where he lived continuously until his death, which occurred April 
23,.  He was married to Olive Sayles Jan. 1, 1864.  Three children were born 
to this union; Chaplin Taylor of Grand Rapids, Charles B. of Traverse City and 
Myrtle Tredenick of South Lowell.  He leaves to mourn their loss, besides 
those mentioned above, his faithful wife, one grandson, one brother Orlando 
Taylor of Lake Odessa, a number of distant relatives and a host of friends, as 
was proved by the many acts of kindness from all who knew him during his 
several illnesses.
