Ira Taylor Meets Death on Logging Train. Killed While Acting as Conductor – Remains to Reach Here Today for Interment. Last Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. Frank Taylor received a telegram conveying the sad intelligence that their son Ira was dead and asking what should be done with the remains. Ira was their eldest son, aged 31 years and was a conductor on a logging train at Bruce’s Crossing, Ontonagon county in the upper peninsula, and Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, who heard from him about a week ago, are satisfied that his death was the result of an accident in connection with his duties as conductor. They at once wired his friends in that country to send his remains here for burial and it is expected the remains will reach here today, the funeral to be held in the Disciple church. Ira was a single man but was engaged to be married and had already sent for his furniture which would indicate that the wedding was to occur in the near future. Besides his father and mother he leaves two brothers and one sister to mourn his sudden and untimely death. It is expected that the remains will be laid to rest in the new cemetery.
