Portland Review - May 4, 2008

Sydell Sylvia Teachout, 77, of Portland, passed away on April 24, 2008.

She was born on Jan. 8, 1931 in New York City, New York. Sydell enjoyed theater 
and was a member of the Portland Civic Players.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Richard; children Richard “Rick” 
(Shirley) Teachout of Portland, Jeff (Debbie) Teachout of Charlotte, Deborah 
(Richard “Dick”) Hovey of Haslett, Laurie (Pat) Thelen of Haslett; nine 
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother Stanley (Crystal) Harris of 
Florida.

Graveside services were held on April 28 at Danby Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Portland Civic 
Players or Mid-Michigan Hospice House in memory of Mrs. Teachout.
