He had been ill for three days following a cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Tebbel was born December 2, 1869 in Chiawassee county and came to Smyrna with his parents, William and Mary Tebbel at the age of 11 years. For a number of years he worked with his father in the Smyrna Flouring Mill, moving to Lansing 30 years ago. When he retired as an employee of the Olds Motor Co. he was presented with a 25 years service ring for his faithfulness. He was married to Eliza McNitt who died in March, 1943. he was a member of Belding Lodge No. 355, F.& A.M., and the Maccabees of Smyrna. Surviving is one son, William A., of Greenville; one brother, John Tebbel of Smyrna; and three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Williams and Mrs. Nellie Wilkinson of Saranac and Mrs. Edna Williams of Lansing. After his death the remains were brought to Fales-Huffman funeral home where services were held Saturday at 2 o’clock. Rev. H. B. Johnson of the Congregational church was in charge of the graveside services in Smyrna cemetery. Pall bearers were Frank Hubbard, Emil Ferick, Vern Brown, Floyd Warner, Ike Webster and J.B. Cook.
