R. Tebbel occurred at his late home in Smyrna Thursday evening, after a sickness of several months, aged 69 years. The deceased was a most excellent citizen and prominent business man of Smyrna and his loss is a sad blow to the community. He purchased the grist mill property there over two years ago and under his management the business had been very successful and in all his dealings he was a man much loved and respected for his uprightness of character. The funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the Tebbel home and was largely attended by old neighbors and sympathizing friends. Rev. G. W. Maxwell, pastor of the Belding M. E. church, officiated and Mrs. Henry Friedly sang, assisted by Miss Beth Barnard, accompanist. The bearers were Messrs. George Tebbel, John Tebbel, Homer Cook and George Northway. The remains in charge of Foster & Ritter were laid to rest in the Smyrna cemetery. Besides the sorrowing wife there are left two sons, George and John Tebbel, and two daughters, Mrs. Homer Cook and Mrs. George Northway.
