Alice W. Tefft, 66, of 24 N. Lee Road, Saranac, died at Metropolitan Hospital,
Grand Rapids, Sept. 11.  She was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on July 18, 1923, a
daughter of Arend and Rachel Cleverenega Wassink.  She was a member of the
American Legion Women’s Auxiliary of Saranac.  On Nov. 21, 1942, she married Lee
Tefft in Saranac.  He died on May 10, 1985.

She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Ingraham of Belding; one sister, Leona
Volovlek of West Olive; three grandchildren; one great-grandson and several
nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Paul Leslie of Green’s
Corner Baptist Church to officiate.  Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery.  The
family will be at Lake Funeral Home from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday.  A memorial has
been established for the Asthma Association, in care of the funeral home.
