Roland Barkow will officiate at funeral services for Katherine Teichmann, 86, who died at the home of a son in Chicago, Ill., early Sunday morning. Mrs. Teichmann was born in Austria, Hungary, February 20, 1880 and she came to the United States in 1914 after she married Jacob Teichmann. They made their home in Chicago until 1917 when they moved to Ionia. Two sons, Harry and Jacob were born in Hungary and a son Philip was born in Chicago. In 1919 Mr. Teichmann died and Mrs. Teichmann made her home with a son, Jacob and for the last two or three years she has been living with her son in Chicago. Son Henry of Chicago, Ill., died in March of 1966 and a son Jacob of Ionia died in May of 1966. Surviving are a son, Phillip of Chicago and 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran church. Funeral services will be in Chicago Tuesday morning. The body will arrive in Grand Rapids late Tuesday evening….home Wednesday at 1 o’clock. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery. Subsequent Publication: Monday, December 22, 1966 Rev. Roland Barkow of St. John Lutheran church officiated at funeral services Wednesday for Katherine Teichmann. Bearers were Phillip Teichmann, William Gerke, Ralph Prince, William Schneider and Phil Teichmann. Friends and relatives from out of two were Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Teichmann of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. William Gerke of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Prince of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Marion Whitlock of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Nobis of Muir and William Schneider and Mrs. Herbert Thaut of Bay City. Interment was in Highland Park cemetery.
