Terry, died at her home, East Washington street, late Sunday night after an illness of several months. She was born in Plainfield, September 1, 1865, the daughter of David and Minerva Soper. While she was still a young girl, her parents moved to Gowan where she attended school and later taught for several terms in the Big Dane settlement school. On July 15, 1883, she was married to Samuel L. Terry at Oakfield. Mr. Terry was a lumber inspector and for several years they moved about in northern Michigan, living at Gowan, Kalkaska, Alden, Pellston, Rexton and Sault Ste. Marie. In 1916 they came here from Sault Ste. Marie, and have resided since at the old Terry homestead. Surviving besides the husband are two sons, Claude C. Terry of Flint and Eselle Terry of Ann Arbor; three daughters, Mrs. Herman Kruger of Cadillac, Mrs. Myra Popendick and Mrs. Maiziebel Churchill of Ionia; one brother, Seymour Soper of Kalkaska; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two of Mrs. Terry’s sisters had preceded her in death by only a few months. Had she lived until July 15 she and Mr. Terry would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Seventh Day Adventist church on Pleasant street.
