Sept. 18, 2013 Belding- Marguerite Terry, 91, of Belding, died Monday morning, Sept. 16, 2013, at Twin Oaks near Gowen. Marguerite was born on April 1, 1922, in Fayetteville, N.C., the daughter of Chris and Mary Pendrick Vlahas. She was a longtime resident of Belding, being active in the Belding Art Club, Belding Gardeners and St. Joseph Catholic Church. In earlier years, she was a member of the Daughters of Isabelle in Ionia. She worked as a reading aide with Belding Area Schools for several years retiring in 1987. Marguerite traveled the world from Hawaii to Alaska to the Caribbean to Nova Scotia and eight different countries and reached her final destination "Heaven". She was married on June 21, 1947, in Belding to Stanley Terry. He preceded her in 1978. She was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Julia Vlahas and a great-grandson, Klayten Terry. Marguerite will be greatly missed by her children and their spouses, Mary Ann and William Zigmont of Lowell, Chris Terry of Jersey City, N.J., Greg and Angie Terry, Kathy Duffield all of Belding, Barbara and Roger Arnzen of Clarkston, Wash., Brian Terry of Belding; several grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding with Father Darrel Kempf presiding. Committal prayers will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday with a rosary prayed at 8 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, and one hour before mass at church. Memorials may be given to the Balding Art Club, Belding Gardeners, Belding Library or the Belding Museum. Memorials may also be given at www.jffh.com.
