Charles E.Tew Dies Unexpectedly

Charles E.Tew, 72, owner of the Tew Insurance Agency passed away suddenly Monday 
forenoon, en route to this office. A lifelong resident of Ionia county, he was a 
former manager and had charge of the shoe department of the E.C. Tew & Sons 
Clothing store for many years. He married Ethel B. Dilley of Sunfield, June 22 
1915 and they have lived their entire married life in Lake Odessa. 

He was the son of Charles and Ada Tew.

Mr. Tew was a member of the Central Methodist church, Lions club and Lake Odessa 
F&AM lodge No. 395.

Surviving are his wife Ethel; two daughters, Mrs.Kingsley (Gertrude) Montgomery 
of Blooomfield Hills and Mrs.Robert (Kathryn) Scholes of Arlington, Va.; three 
grandchildren and a nephew Denard Caswell business man of Ionia.

Funeral service were held Wednesday at 2 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel, with 
burial in Lakeside cemetery. Rev. Luther Brokaw officiated.
