TAFT DIED MONDAY Was Lifelong Resident of County and Early Settler in Orange Township The death of George L. Taft, a lifelong resident of Ionia County and early pioneer settler of Orange Township, occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Kuhtz in Ionia, Monday afternoon, after an illness of several weeks. At the time of his death Mr. Taft was past 80 years of age. He was born in Ionia but later, with his parents, moved to Orange Township, where for many years he was engaged in farming. Mrs. Taft died about 12 years ago. He is survived by two sons, Riley of Detroit and John B. of Washington, both of whom are expected to arrive for the funeral. One brother, Frank Taft of Ionia Township also survives.
