Ionia Daily Sentinel, 28 Jan 1949

John Thalison, 67, of 776 Cyrus street died suddenly at the Ionia County 
Memorial hospital at 3 a.m. Friday after being admitted there only two hours 
earlier.

He was born July 24, 1881, in Ionia, the son of Peter and Ella Thalison.  He 
has lived the greater part of his life in Ionia and has been employed for the 
past four years by the Ionia Manufacturing company.  Mr. Thalison was married 
January 15, 1920, to the former Gladys Taylor of Ionia.

Surviving are two sons, Frank of Mt. Pleasant and John, Jr. of Ionia; two 
daughters, Arduth and Ella of Ionia; one half-brother, Barney Smith, of 
Oaklawn, Ill.; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Stevens of Lakeview and Mrs. Rose 
Necker of Detroit.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Boynton funeral home.  
The Rev. Harold Tjepkema, pastor of the Free Methodist church, will officiate.  
Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
