Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2002

Joseph Thayer, 70, of Lyons passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002 in Ionia.  He 
was born July 26, 1932 in Farwell, the son of Robert and Ruth (Shellenbarker) 
Thayer.  He married Beverly on Feb. 26, 1967, who preceded him in death Aug. 3, 
2002.

He is survived by his sons, Randy (Tina) Thayer of Ionia, Joseph Thayer of 
Ionia, Jack (Judy) Lilly of Lyons, Gary Lilly of Saranac and Dennis (Sherrie) 
Lilly of Edmore; daughters, Nancy Thayer of Muir, Lori (Fred) Smith of Marion 
and Lynn( Andy) Hall of Marion; brother, Lavern (Cindy) Thayer of Lyons; 
sisters, Minnie Jeffrey of Hubbardston, Norma Jean Thayer of Hubbardston, 
Rosella Rushford of Muir and Marie Wolford Devers of Lyons; and many 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two 
brothers, Junior and Robert Thayer.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday at Lake Funeral Home in Muir 
with Rev. Ken Harger officiating.  Interment Lyons Cemetery.  The family will 
receive friends and family two hours prior to service on Monday beginning at 11 
a.m.
