Mrs. L.B. Thayer died at her home in the village Friday night after an illness 
of several weeks, death being due to a combination of heart trouble and 
pneumonia.

Deceased was born in the state of New York Dec. 29, 1832, and came to Michigan 
in 1862.  In 1863 she was married to Melvin Martin, who passed away April 3, 
1901.  There was born to this union four children, Mrs. D.W. Vincent being the 
only one living.  She was married to L.B. Thayer in 1904, and after spending 
several years at Ionia came to Lyons, where they have since resided.

Mrs. Thayer, although not an active worker, has been a member of the M.E. 
church since 1862.  The funeral was held from the home Monday at 10 o’clock, 
Rev. W.W. Hurd officiating.  The floral offerings bore testimony to the esteem 
in which she was held.  The music was furnished by Mesdames Bradt and W.A. 
Grant.  Interment in Keefer cemetery.
