L.B. Thayer, an aged veteran of the civil war, died at the home of Austin Lincoln 
in the village this morning at about 9 o’clock.  Deceased has been ailing all the 
past summer, being cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln, with whom he made his home 
for several months.  He was married some time last February, but has not lived 
with his wife for some time.  Besides a widow, he is survived by a sister in 
California and two brothers in Sparta.  No arrangements for the funeral have been 
made yet.
