RICHARD THAYER, 75
Richard Lee Thayer, 75, of Ionia passed away Dec. 16, 2020. He was born March 
14, 1945, in Lansing. The son of Leslie and Geraldine (Preadmore) Thayer Jr. 
Rick served during the Vietnam war.

He loved to drag race especially at Central Michigan Dragway. Rick married Naomi 
May 14, 2002, she receded him in death in 2019.

Surviving are his children; Rick Thayer of Ionia and Tamara Stamper of Belding. 
Step-children; Deb (Dave) Converse of Whitemore Lake and David (Pam) Hann of 
Belding. Sisters; Nancy VanAsdoll of Alaska, Patty (Jerry) Palek of Ashley and 
Toni Skaryd of Banister. grandchildren; Joshua, Mallory, Cassidy, Joie, Caleb, 
Robby, Zachary Micci, McKenzie, Joel and Portia. Great-grandchildren; Bentley, 
Damian, Kayden, Iylea and Connar.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, wife Naomi, daughter Traci Thayer, 
Daughter-in-law Trina Thayer, son-in-law Paul Stamper and brothers-in-law Donald 
VanAsdoll and Doug Skaryd.

Private services will be held at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Online condolences
