Portland Observer, 21 May 1918

Edward Theis, a bachelor, who made his home with a brother, Frank, died early 
Friday evening, of dropsy.  He was about 50 years old and had been ailing two 
years.  Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s church Monday morning.  Mr. 
Theis is survived by the following brothers and sisters:  Frank, Charles and 
Henry Theis, Mrs. Jos Schueller, all living in this vicinity.
