Ionia Sentinel, 28 May 1952

Edwin J. Thelen, 36, of Ionia Route 3 died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the 
Ionia County memorial hospital where he had been hospitalized for 1 ½ days with 
a heart condition.

He was born in Fowler September 25, 1915, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Thelen.  
An Ionia resident for some time, he had been employed as a truck driver at 
Hale’s Mills for the past nine years.  He was a member of the loyal Order of 
Moose and SS. Peter and Paul church.

Surviving are the wife, the former Dorothy Klenk of Ionia; a son, Edwin, Jr., 
7; five brothers, Anthony, and Andrew of Fowler and Herb, Tony and Benny of 
Westphalia; and a sister, Mrs. Hildegarde Arens of Westphalia.

Rosary will be said at the Myers funeral home Thursday at 8 p.m.  Services will 
be Friday at 9 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul church.  Burial will be in Mt. Olivet 
cemetery.
