The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, October 24, 1960

Mrs. Anna S. Thelen, 70, died Sunday morning at her home on Charlotte highway, 
rural Portland.  She is survived by her husband, William; two daughters, Mrs. 
Laurine Schafer of Pewamo, and Mrs. Adeline Bryner of Portland; a son, Leo of 
Portland; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Catholic 
church in Portland with the Rt. Rev. Louis Flohe officiating.  Rosary will be 
recited Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Neller funeral home in Portland.  Interment will 
be at St. Mary’s cemetery in Westphalia.

Subsequent Publication:  Wednesday, October 26, 1960

Service was conducted at St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Portland Wednesday 
at 9:30 a.m. for Mrs. Anna S. Thelen, 70, rural Portland, who died at her home 
Sunday morning.  The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Louis Flohe officiated and burial was at 
St. Mary’s cemetery in Westphalia.

Rosary was recited Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Neller funeral home.  Bearers were 
Elmer Barker, Ralph Barker, Jerome Barker, Leo Fox, Arthur Schafer and Ferd 
Fox.
