Joyce Irene Thelen, 63, of Pewamo, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011. Joyce 
was born on June 10, 1947 the daughter of Reynold and Irene (Schueller) Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Michelle Thelen; brother, 
Delbert Smith; and sisters, Catherine and Alice Smith.

Surviving are her two sons, Mark (Cathy) Thelen and Michael (Theresa) Thelen; 
grandchildren, Michelle Miller and Sophie Thelen; great grandchild, Jaerod 
Miller; siblings, Arlene Schafer, Roy (Arline) Smith, Dennis (Mary) Smith 
Patricia Smith, Wilma (Grover) Whitehead, Judy (David) Thelen and Peter (Linda) 
Smith. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 
2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo, Rite of Committal will follow at 
St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at St. Mary’s 
Funeral Chapel in Westphalia from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday with a Scripture 
Service at 8 p.m. and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with rosary at 3 
p.m. and 8 p.m.
