Ionia County News - Thurs. Jan. 1, 1953

PEWAMO- Miss Loretta Thelen, daughter of Anthony Thelen and the late Helena 
Thelen, passed away at the home of her sister, Mrs. William McPherson, in Bay 
City, last Tuesday evening, December 23, after a lingering illness. Miss 
Loretta was born in Fowler, July 21, 1904.

The body was brought to the family home on Thursday morning. Rosaries were said 
on Thursday and Friday evenings. Funeral service was held from St. Joseph’s 
church on Saturday morning, Rev. Father Henige officiating. Burial in St. 
Joseph’s cemetery.

Besides the father, Miss Thelen is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Leona Leech of 
St. Paul, and Mrs. Mary Ann McPherson of Bay City, and two brothers, Louis and 
Gregory of Pewamo.
