Bruno M. Thelen, 59, of Westphalia, died June 7, 1994.

Mr. Thelen was born in Westphalia on Sept. 27, 1934, the son of John A. and 
Theresia (Schmitt) Thelen. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the 
Knights of Columbus Westphalia Council, the St. Joseph Society and the Holy Name 
Society. He was retired B.O.C. supervisor and had returned to full-time farming 
and employment with Zeebs Fertilizer.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; four daughters, Barbara Kurkowski of DeWitt, 
Sandra (Keith) Kohut, Ind., Dorothy (Carl) Pohl of Westphalia, and Shirley 
Thelen of Dayton, Ohio; three sons; Robert M. Thelen of Westphalia, Charles L. 
(Sherry) Thelen of Westphalia, and Anthony J. Thelen of Westphalia; seven 
grandchildren, Theresia, Derek, Scott, Joey, Dawn, Christie and Kyan; six 
sisters, Bertha (Norbert) Simon of Pewamo, Regina Simon of Fowler, Regina Simon 
of Fowler, Mary (Marvin) Platte of Portland, Rita (David) Witgen of Westphalia, 
Agnes (Kenneth) Stump of Westphalia and Genevieve (Carol) Platte of Westphalia; 
and one brother, Herman (Bernadette) Thelen of Westphalia. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Anna Goodman; and two 
brothers, Elmer and Albert.

The rosary was recited June 9 and 10. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 
June 11, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westphalia, with Rev. James Novak 
officiating. Interment followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Westphalia.
