Ionia County News – Thursday, 11 January 1934

A number of old neighbors and friends gathered at North Plains church to 
attend the funeral of Mrs. Fred Thomas Saturday afternoon.  She was a resident 
of that vicinity a number of years ago.  Mrs. Thomas passed away at the home 
of her daughter, Mrs. Floyd Stevens, of Allegan, last Wednesday.  Those 
relatives who attended were the husband and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Stevens, of 
Allegan; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Tabor, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Thomas, of Grand 
Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Thomas and son, of Flint; Mr. and Mrs. Rollin 
Thomas and daughter, of Tustin; Mr. and Mrs. Milton Thomas, of Caledonia; Mr. 
and Mrs. Charles Sawtell, of Pierson; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Young, son and 
daughter; and an old friend of the family, Mrs. Ross, of Plainwell.  All 
gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Young and had dinner before the 
funeral.
