Wayne Perry Thomas, 65, of Lowell, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, Jan. 14, 
2003 in Grand Rapids.  He was born July 25, 1937 in Lansing, the son of Matthew 
and Jennie Ann (Eddy) Thomas.  Wayne would go on to marry Kathleen Jean Moore 
May 5, 1956, in Saranac.

Wayne worked for Vans Delivery Service in Grand Rapids for the past six years.  
Prior to that he worked for Berger Chevrolet as a body man and manager for 20 
years.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen Jean Thomas, of Lowell; his 
mother Jennie Ann Thomas, of Ionia; children Debra and Michael Andrews of 
Orleans, Teresa and Donald Cowley of Florida, Stephanie and Gary Birman of 
Saranac, Marjorie and David Hanner of Belding; 13 loving grandchildren and two 
great-grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy May Thomas of Saranac; and one 
brother, Richard Thomas of Ionia.

He was preceded in death by his son Christopher O’Brien Thomas April 27, 1977; 
his father Matthew; two brothers, Robert and Levi; and one sister, Martha.

He was loved very deeply and will be sadly missed by all his family and 
friends.  Most of all we know he is home with the Lord.  He loved his Lord very 
deeply and God was the soul of him.  He was a fine Christian man.

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Friendship 
Country Chapel with Rev. Robert Roush and Rev. Matt Harvey officiants.  
Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Lowell.  Visitation will be on Thursday and 
Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Funeral 
Home in Saranac.  Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to The 
Families Choice.
