Mr. Thomas had complained for some time of a pain in his right side when he walked rapidly that caused choking but he was apparently in good health otherwise. He leaves a son, and one brother, Fred. Mr. Thomas came to the county from New York in 1863 and settled on a farm in Easton four miles west of the city on 15 acres of the farm as cleared. He cleared his farm and resided there for many years. He served eight years as township treasurer and eight years as supervisor from Easton. In September of this year Mr. Thomas made a tirp to New York state and was accompanied by his brother, Fred. The funeral will be held from the Easton church. Mr. Thomas retired last night and was taken ill about 8 o’clock. He died at 11 o’clock.
