Ionia Sentinel Standard - June 1, 2011


Bonnie L. Thomas, 75. Longtime Fenwick area resident, died Monday, May 30, 2011 
in Bellaire. She was born May 25, 1936 in Ionia, the daughter of Bruce and 
Bernadine (Custer) Minaker.

On July 31, 1954, she married the love of her life, Wayne Thomas, in Ionia. He 
preceded her in death on May 21, 2009. She was also preceded in death by to 
brothers and two sisters.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Robert Wayne (Karen) Thomas Jr. of Central 
Lake and Brenda Demenov (Mike Glazer) of Fenwick; grandchildren, Wade Thomas, 
Trevor Demenov, and Casey Demenov; and siblings, Roberta Minaker, Jane (Bob) 
Gachter, Jacqueline Morris, Charles (Linda) Minaker, Marion Hagerman, Lois 
Lund, Robert (Betty) Minaker and James Minaker.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Hurst Funeral 
Home, Greenville, with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

Rev. Ken Harger will serve as officiant, and graveside services will follow at 
Sunny Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society and online 
messages of condolence may be sent via www.hurstfuneralhome.com.
