The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, May 23, 1960

Ray Thomas of Palo died Sunday at Blodgett Memorial hospital in Grand Rapids 
after an illness of one month.  Born October 28, 1901 in Ionia, he was the son 
of Mr. and Mrs. Smith Thomas.  He was married to the former Ivah Dickinson in 
1923.  Mr. Thomas was employed at Ionia Manufacturing company the past 10 
years.

He is survived by his wife, Ivah; five daughters, Mrs. Merle (Leona) Linder of 
Ionia, Mrs. Richard (Helen) Husted, and Mrs. John (Jean) O’Connell of Palo, 
Mrs. Francis (Faye) Westbrook of Lansing, and Mrs. Ronald (Geraldine) Cleary 
Jackson; one son, Norman of Philadelphia, Pa.; one brother, Ralph of Fenwick; 
24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be held at Myers funeral home Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. wit 
the Rev. Lewis Herrick officiating.  Interment will be at Sunny Hill cemetery 
in Montcalm county.
