Mrs. Zella Thomas, 71, of Lake Odessa died Monday morning at 2 o’clock at 
Greenfield Convalescent Home at Hastings where she had been a patient for 
several weeks.

She was born November 9, 1882 in Sebewa township the daughter of David and Ida 
Figg who were early pioneers of Sebewa.  June 9, 1909 she was married to Arthur 
Thomas and they moved to Lake Odessa 13 years ago from Lansing where they had a 
grocery store and meat business for 28 years.  She was a member of the Calvary 
U.B. church.

Surviving besides her husband, Arthur, are one son, Bruce of Lansing; one 
sister, Mrs. W. C. McCartney of Lake Odessa; three brothers, Dale and Voight 
Figg of Sunfield and Clare of Vermontville, and one granddaughter, Linda Thomas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Pickens 
funeral chapel with the Rev. M. H. Dawson officiating.  Burial will be in 
Lakeside cemetery.
