Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 30 Mar 1959

Harry Charles Thomas, 84, of 525 Hall street, a lifelong resident of Ionia, died
Sunday morning March 29, at a Lansing hospital.  He had gone to Lansing two
months ago to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Glenn Hatadis, 617 West
Hillsdale street.

Mr. Thomas was born December 9, 1874 at Ionia.  He had been a well-known builder
and had operated three different grocery stores in Ionia.  Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary two weeks ago.

Surviving besides his wife, Jessie F., are a son, Harry C. Thomas, Jr., of
Detroit; a daughter, Mrs. Glenn Hatadis of Lansing; eight grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Rose Smith of Bancroft.  A daughter,
Mrs. Ilene (Stewart) Thomas died in 1953.

Funeral service will be held at Estes-Leadley Colonial chapel, Lansing at 1:30
Tuesday afternoon with interment at Highland Park cemetery at Ionia.  Interment
service at the cemetery will be conducted at 3 p.m.  The Rev. Lester Boyd of
Lansing will officiate.
