Helen Maxine Thomas, 87, of Belding, died Sunday morning, Dec. 20, 2009, at
Quality Adult Foster Care Home in Greenville, where she had lived for the past
several months.  Maxine was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Greenville, the daughter of
Fred and Mamie Schrader Harrison.

She graduated from Greenville High School with the Class of 1940.  In earlier
years she worked at Federal-Mogul in Greenville and later worked for Dr. VanLoo
and was a teller at First Security Bank in Belding for a number of years. 
Maxine was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church in Belding
where she was active in the bell choir, the church choir and the Kate Shannon
Fellowship.

She was married on Nov. 24, 1945, in Greenville to Jim Thomas and he preceded
Maxine in death in 1993.  She also was preceded in death by her parents and one
brother in infancy.  She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles
A. and Myrtle Harrison of Greenville; several nieces and nephews, her friends
and church family.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church,
Belding, with Pastor Byron Davey officiating.  Private interment will be in Rest
Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.  Visitation will be one hour before the service
at church.  Instead of flowers, please consider memorials to the First
Congregational Church, Belding.  Envelopes will be available at the church and
at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, where funeral care has been
entrusted.
