Richard Thomas, of Ionia, age 79, passed away July 25, 2014.  He was born 
October 18, 1934 to Claude & Jessie (Emelander) Thomas. 

He is survived by wife, Dolores (Cusack) Thomas; children, Sue (Lonnie) Finch, 
Rick (Terri) Thomas, Russ (Beth) Thomas, Cheryl (Brian) Cobb and Rob (Kathi) 
Thomas; grandchildren, Justin (Trish) Thomas, Emily (Nick) Esparza, Kelsey 
Thomas, Nick (Leslie Fischer) Thomas, Alexandria Finch, Emma Thomas, Madison 
Finch, Jayden Thomas, Brandon Thomas, and William Little; great-grandsons, Nick 
& Wyatt Thomas; and on the way great granddaughter, Amzie Esparza.  Also 
survived by brother, Leo Thomas; sister-in-law, Margaret Thomas and brother in-
law, Burton Taylor.  He was preceded in death by son, Ryan Thomas; daughter, 
Theresa; sisters, Mary, Rose, Martha, and Kay and brothers, Claude, Frank and 
Francis Thomas. 

Private Burial will take place on Tuesday, July 29.  The family is planning a 
Celebration of Life, Sunday the 27th at 2 p.m. at the Hunting and Fishing 
Club.  In lieu of flowers please donate blood or make a monetary gift to the 
America Red Cross.  Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
