Steward in speaking at the funeral services for Ruth Elmir Thomas, "for little children. The home is happiest where there are little children. But in time we find them transplanted from the home: they may grow up and leave the home, or they may be called from this life. Heaven must find much of its joy in the little children there." The services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the home of the parents. Mrs. and Mrs. Claude Thomas, in South Ionia. The child died Friday afternoon from burns received Monday when she fell on a gasoline stove, which ignited her clothing. The bearers were Charles Thomas, Grover Thomas, George Thomas and Tony Emelander. Burial was in the Balcom cemetery.
