Lake Odessa Wave - November 2, 1967
          CLAUDE THOMAS PASSES AWAY
   Claude Thomas, 80 of Kalamazoo, former Lake Odessa area resident passed away
Wednesday at home at 
708 Jasper, Kalamazoo following a long illness.
   He is a native of Elmdale, of Kent County.  The son of Abraham and Elmira (Time)
Thomas, he has lived in 
Kalamazoo for the past 40 years and was a retired farmer and carpenter.  Surviving
is his wife, Martha, one 
daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Rheta) Cannot of Kalamazoo, one son Gerald of Delton, four
grand and 5 great 
grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. George (Martha) Kaussmaul, Mrs. Homer (Ruby)
Klingman, both of Lake 
Odessa and Mrs. Pearl Swiger of Lansing; and one brother, Roy of Hastings.
   Mr. Thomas reposes at the Pickens Funeral Home, Lake Odessa where his funeral
services will be held at 
1:30, Saturday.
   Rev. Norman Wilbert will officiate with burial at Lakeside Cemetery.
