          SERVICES HELD FOR MARTHA S. THOMAS
   Mrs. Martha S. Thomas, 80, of Kalamazoo, passed away Saturday morning at Borgess
Hospital where she 
was hospitalized a week.
    She was born March 8, 1889, in Carlton Township, Barry County, daughter of
Warren and Emily (Friend) 
Wickham.
   She married Claude Thomas of Lake Odessa Feb. 2, 1908, and he passed away Nov.1,
1967.  they resided in 
the area until moving to Kalamazoo 44 years ago.
   Surviving area son, Gerald of Delton; one daughter, Mrs. Rheta Cannon of
Kalamazoo; four grandchildren, 
six great-grandchildren and two sister, Mrs. Ralp (Lena) Martin of East St. Louis,
Ill., and Mrs. Charles 
(Blanche) Dotterrer of Clearwater. Fla.
   Funeral services were held Monday at 4:00 p.m. at the Pickens Funeral Chapel. 
Rev. Norman Wilbert 
officiated, with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
   Contributions for the American Cancer Society may be left at the Pickens Funeral
Chapel.
