Was Husking Corn in Field. Father of Mrs. Orvin Catt and Brother of Mrs.Pliny Russell of This Place. Death took Nathaniel Thomas of near clarksville last Saturday afternoon while husking corn. Mr. Thomas had not been feeling real well this fall but was anxious to finish his corn husking and for that purpose was in the field that day. When he did not come as it got dark his wife took the lantern and after searching for him near the shocks of corn finally found him dead. He having only eight more shocks to finish his task. The funeral was held Monday afternoon. Mr. Thomas was sixty years of age-comparatively a young man. He leave besides his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Orvin Catt of this place, two brothers Noah Thomas and Nelson Thomas of Clarksville and two sister, Mrs.Geo Forby of Freeport and Mrs.Pliny Russell of Lake Odessa. Mrs. Thomas has a brother, Jonas Kauffman with her but will later spend some of her time with her daughter here.
