                              WILLIAM A. THOMAS

SARANAC - William A.Thomas, 74, of Ionia, died Friday in Butterworth Hospital, 
Grand Rapids.

He was born in South Bend on July 25, 1917, the son of Harry and Ruth Thomas.

He was a retired Police Captain in South Bend for 22 years.

He is survived by his two daughters, Billie Burkhart of Saranac and June 
Truswell of Morrison Lae and four grandchildren.

Private funeral services will be held Monday at the Lake Funeral Home, Saranac, 
with the Rev. Scott Anderson officiating.

A Memorial has been established for the Salvation Army, in care of thefuneral 
home.
