Ionia Sentinel - Thursday, March 11, 1897

Cordelia W., wife of Dr. W. B. Thomas, died at 3 o'clock Monday morning, of nervous

prostration, after a long illness. Mrs. Thomas was 59 years old, a daughter of the 
late C. W. Norton, and sister of Mrs. B. B. Hall. She was married and came to Ionia

in 1861, having been a resident here since that time. She was a woman highly 
esteemed, a kind  neighbor, warm friend, and loving wife and mother, devoted to her

family.

She was for years a member of the Presbyterian church of this city and leaves behind

her not only a mourning husband and two children, Fred B. and Miss Katharine, but a

large circle of acquaintances. The funeral services will be conducted form the 
family residence, East Main street, at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon by Rev. J. T. 
Oxtoby, D. D. The burial was in Highland Park cemetery.
