William Thomas, a young farmer of Sebewa township committed suicide last evening by hanging himself. He told his wife, between five and six o'clock that he was going to the barn to do the chores. She set about ______ the evening meal, and when ______ was on the table, she called ______ she received no response. She thought this strange and went to the barn. She was horrified to see the lifeless body dangling from the end of a rope. Mr. Thomas had gone to the barn loft, tied a rope around a rafter, the other end around his neck, and jumped to death. No reason is known as to why he committed the unfortunate act, unless it be despondency. He moved with his family on to the Charles Holmes farm last spring and according to report, was heavily in debt for it. He was 35 or 40 years of age and leaves besides his wife, one small child. The farm is a half mile west of the store at Sebewa Center. It comprises one hundred and twenty acres.
