Carolyn Kay Thomas, aged 66, of Ionia, passed away July 7, 2007 at her home.  
She was born January 13, 1941 in Lansing the daughter of Elsie and Phyllis 
Durbin. She married Leo Thomas December 17, 1982. She worked for ICNB in Ionia 
until her retirement. Carolyn was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in 
Ionia.

She is survived by her husband Leo Thomas of Ionia; daughter, Debra and Jake 
Springsteen of Sheridan; step-sons, Christopher and Tammy Thomas of Ionia, 
Scott and Shirley Thomas of Fenwick; sister, Connie and Don Hiner of Florida; 
grandchildren, Todd and Teresa Wandell, Tyler Wandell, Jamie, Erica and April 
Sinclair, Chris and Sheena Springsteen, Morgan and Ashlyn Stencel; step 
grandchildren, Jarrod, Kassidy and Brandon Thomas; great grandchildren, Bailey 
and Ryanna Lewis, Clayton, Mason and Weston Wandell; son in law, Mike Wandell 
of Ionia. daughter in law Becky Stencel of Grand Rapids; brother in laws, 
Richard and Dee Thomas of Ionia, Claude and Margaret Thomas of Muir; sisters 
in law, Rose Moon of Ionia, Kay, Burton Taylor of Ionia and Martha Swartz of 
Portland. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Colleen Wandell 
and son Michael Stencel.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday 11 a.m. at the St. John's Lutheran 
Church in Ionia with Rev. David Bogda officiating. Interment Easton Cemetery. 
Visitation will be Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. 
Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to St. John's Lutheran Church 
or American Cancer Society.
