Ionia Sentinel, Feb 2001

Guy A. Thompson, 75, of Muir, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, in Grand 
Rapids.

He was born April 27, 1925, in Trout Lake, the son of Arthur and Emma (Ross) 
Thompson.  He went on to marry Mary Penokie.  She survived him in Muir.

He was a veteran of World War II, a Sea Bee and was highly decorated.

He is survived by his sons, Nathan (Becky) Thompson, of Rockford, and Pieter 
(Joni) Thompson of Nevada; daughters, Christina (James) Muxlow of Lapeer, 
Andrea (Robert) Perri of Muskegon, Cynthia (Michael) Harrington of Mount 
Pleasant and Celeste (Louie) Shafer of Lyons; brother, Floyd Thompson of Sault 
Ste Marie; sisters, Edna Grego of Sault Ste. Marie, Rena Thompson of Kincheloe, 
Janet Roberts of Kincheloe and Eva Reno of South Lyon; and 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at hull Memorial Chapel of the Lake 
Funeral Homes, in Muir, with Fr. Melvin Fox officiating.  Visitation is 5 p.m. 
to 7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.  Anyone wishing may make memorial 
contributions to family choice.
