The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Friday, May 11, 1906

Mrs. Jane Thompson, mother of Mrs. Simon Connor, of Easton, died this morning 
at 2 o’clock.  Funeral from the residence of her daughter Sunday afternoon at 
2 o’clock.  Interment in Easton cemetery.

Jane Fuller was born in June, 1837, town of Clark, Duram county, Canada.  In 
Feb. 19, 1855, she was married to Robert Thompson of the same place.  To this 
union were born six daughters, three of whom have passed to the great beyond.  
Mary J. who died in infancy, Jemima aged 19, wife of William Keller and Irene 
aged twenty months.  Three are left to mourn the loss of a loving mother.  
Marion, wife of Judson Lee, Keene; Addie, wife of Sine Conner, Easton; and 
Letitia, wife of A. O. Wright, California.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson came to Michigan in 1858, and settled on the present 
homestead two years later, enduring the hardships of a new country as only 
those who have had a similar experience can comprehend.  When about thirty 
three years old she gave her heart to God and united with the M. E. church.

September 27, 1900 Mr. Thompson passed away and a few years later she was 
overtaken by sickness which baffled the skill of all physicians, and on May 
11, she fell quietly asleep surrounded by her loved ones, whose untiring 
efforts have done so much to relieve her suffering the past few months.  Mrs. 
Thompson was a kind and loving mother, a true friend and neighbor and every 
ready to lend a helping hand.  And being of a very ambitious nature she leaves 
behind a record of honor and uprightness which none can excel, and it can 
truly be said she has done her best.
