July 11, 2017 ALICE THOMPSON 1922-2017 Alice M. Thompson, age 95, of Belding, passed away on July 6, 2017 peacefully at home following a brief illness. Alice was born in Champion Alberta Canada on June 10, 1922, the daughter of Anthony and Anna (Straus) Ash. She graduated from Belding High School in 1939. Alice was a riveter during World War II for several years and later as a clerk typist for five years with the State of Michigan. Alice was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Ave Maria Guild. On Jan 23, 1946 she married Russell J. Thompson. Russell preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1993. Also preceding her in death are her parents, brothers; CG Ash, Frank Ash, Stanley Ash and Richard Ash, sisters; Bernice Ash and Thelma Church. Surviving are her sons; Robert B. (Evelyn) Thompson, Donald J. Thompson and Dean J. Thompson all of Belding, grandchildren; Heather (Mark) Davis, Brenna, James, Sarah, Matthew and Lauren Thompson. Stepchildren; Chari' Pouch, Robert (Gabby) Pouch, Eric Pouch, two great-grandchildren and five step-great- grandchildren, sister; Lucille McGuire of Santa Maria, CA, brother-in-law; William (Marcia) Thompson of Holland, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding with Fr. Mark Bauer as celebrant. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017 with a Rosary prayed at 7:30 p.m. at Johnson- Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Visitation will also be one hour before mass at the church. There will be a luncheon immediately following the funeral at church. Burial will be at St. Joseph catholic Cemetery after the luncheon. Memorials may be given to St. Joseph food pantry. Envelopes will also be available at the Funeral Home.
