LENA THOMPSON
Lena Thompson, 91, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, August, 12, 2019, at 
Butterworth Hospital with her family at her side. Lena was born in Avilla, 
Arkansas, the daughter of Albert Frederich and Lina Freida Grafe.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 57 years, Kenneth Thompson 
in 2005; and one brother and two sisters. Lena is survived by her children, 
Kenneth F. and Nancy Thompson of Cordova, Tennessee, Richard Thomason of 
Ionia, and Steven and Linda Thompson of Lowell; her grandchildren, Kimberly 
and Jason Wilson, Kenneth H. and Jennifer Thompson, Kelly M. Thompson, 
Lyndsey Thompson, Stacey thompson and WEric Wesche, Stephani and Tim 
Ramijanc, and Cort Thompson; her great-grandchildren, Kristin, Josh, Gavin, 
Hannah, Joseph, Jade, Christian, Ella, Lena, Amer, Calen; her great-great-
grandchildren, Abigail, Paisley, Madison, and Wyatt; her sister, Meda Scott; 
her brother-in-law, Garret Praasterink.

A funeral service for the family to celebrate Lena's life will be held at 1 
p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2019, at the Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe 
in Rockford. Pastor Jason Peterson will officiate. Burial will take place in 
Courtland Township cemetery immediately following the service. In Lieu of 
flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the 
Alzheimer's Association-Greater Michigan Chapter, West Michigan Office-4081 
Cascade Road SE Suite 400, Grand Rapids, MI 40546.
