Sampson said Mrs. Thompson shot herself with a .410 gauge pistol. She was found in the basement of her home at about 7:45 a.m. by her husband, Ferris. Dr. J.S. Lilly, county coroner, ruled the death a suicide. A graduate of Central Michigan College, Mrs. Thompson was a former teacher at Sheridan and Evart schools. She was a member of the Fenwick Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Pamela C., at home, and her mother, Mrs. Myrtle Gould, Sheridan. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Stebbins Funeral Home, the Rev. Edson Vane officiating. Burial will be at Clear Lake Cemetery.
