Mrs. Thompson had been in poor health- for some time but had remained active in keeping her home and caring for her aged aunt. Mrs. Jennie McTaggart, who has been with her for the past three years. After supper Saturday ight Mrs. Thompson went over to Engemanns' grocery store on S. Bridge street and while making her purchases mentioned the fact she was not feeling well so Martin Engemann took her home in his car. Dr. Dutt was summoned but Mrs. Thompson lived only a few minutes. Death was attributed to hypostatic congestion of the lungs. Flora Warfel Thompson was born in 1862 at Bath. She was the widow of the late William E. Thompson. The family were former residents of Fenwick, having moved to Belding over twenty years ago. There was one son, Fred, a brakeman on the railroad, who was killed in an accident at Grand Ledge several years ago. Mrs. Thompson and her sister-in-law, Miss Lena Thompson, a teacher in Albion, have resided together for a number of years. The deceased was a loyal member of the local Methodist church. Funeral services were held from the Fitzjohn funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 1:30, Rev. George A. Mooers officiating, and burial was made in the family lot at Shanty Plains cemetery. Mrs. Thompson is survived by two sisters, Mrs. F.N. Ball of Charlotte, and Mrs. Euphemia Barry, of Traverse City, besides a host of friends.
