Elizabeth “Betty” A. Thompson, age 78, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015. 
She was born on August 6, 1936 the daughter of Francis and Catherine (Selbach)
Lawless.  Mrs. Thompson was an elementary school teacher for many years in
Portland.  On June 14, 1958 she married her high school sweetheart, James
Thompson.  Betty loved her children and grandchildren very much, and enjoyed
traveling around the entire United States.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Patrick Lawless.  Surviving
are her loving husband, James; children, Karen (John) Mullane, Dennis (Jennifer)
Thompson, Joan (Bill) Durkin, Robert (Julie) Thompson, and Judy (Kevin) Boley;
19 grandchildren; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Larry King at 11:00 a.m.
Monday, April 13, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland.  Rite of
Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends
from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street,
Portland.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Hope
Landing Memorial Fund, in memory of Mrs. Betty Thompson.
