Thompson, 82, of Dimondale, formerly of Portland, passed away May 30, 2004. He was born in Ravenna Feb. 7, 1922 the son of Clyde and Jennie (Young) Thompson. Marion retired in 1979 from Gregware Company as a sales representative. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Portland VFW Post #4090. He loved camping with his family, snowmobiling, hunting. Most of all, he loved to spend a quiet afternoon fishing on his pontoon with his wife Leta. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Leta; children, Jerry (Marilyn) Thompson of Allentown, Pa., Nancy Thompson of Lansing, Eileen (Joe) Honsowitz of Eaton Rapids, and Jim (Bobbie) Thompson of Portland; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Nina Hipler of Grand Haven; several nieces and nephews. Services were conducted by the Rev. Paul Bailey June 3 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Interment followed at Portland Cemetery.
